Our restaurant is located within walking distance to both the city center as well as Wildlands Adventure Zoo. At the same time our colorful hotel is situated in one of the oldest villages of the Netherlands: Noordbarge. This unique combination is second to none. The same goes for the facade of the hotel. Painted on it are images made by Toyists. Toyism is an art movement, originated in Emmen, who have worked on the facade for 5 weeks to create the project ‘Dreams for Breakfast’. The biggest side pictures a loving couple made of of all kinds of delicacies. Also on the smaller sides you can find all kinds of dishes as well as references to the Zoo and Noordbarge.
Our kitchen staff specializes in French oriented “Dutch cuisine”. Vegetables are a main focal point to create the perfect balance in every dish we serve. This means the dishes do not focus solely on the main product of meat, fish, poultry or game. Our goal is to bring the south east of Drenthe to a high culinary level, while maintaining our —- personable ambiance—-. Therefor our menu consists of an excellent value for money ratio.
Due to our cooperation with local suppliers, a high quality is guaranteed at all time. A versatile menu for both lunch and dinner is prove of that. Passionate as we are, upon request we are more than happy to put together a surprise menu for any occassion. Even for vegetarians and vegans we offer a great variety of dishes. Every month we offer a different 3 or 4 course menu, fitting the season.
For a wonderful overnight stay on Sunday nights you can book our special Sunday Arrangement. Checking in is on Sundays from 15.00h. to enjoy the rooms facilities. In the evening a culinary 3 course meal awaits in our restaurant. After a good nights’ sleep you can enjoy the breakfast buffet before checking out at 11.00h. The day can be filled with activities like visting Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen or the many beautiful spots in the Hondsrug region. Perfect, right? You will find our striking hotel and restaurant within walking distance of the center of Emmen and Wildlands. The colorful exterior of our hotel features imaginative Toyist paintings. This project called “Dreams for Breakfast” was worked on for five weeks by Toyist artists.
